Identified Gravestone Carvers

November 2011 - The following gravestone carvers in Walker-Blake Graveyard have been identified by Vincent F. Luti, Westport, Massachusetts, nationally know gravestone carver authority, author of “Stonecarvers of the Narragansett Basin: Stephen and Charles Harshorn of Providence”, “John Anthony Angel and William Throope: Stonecutters of the Narragansett Basin”, “Mallet & Chisel: Gravestone of Newport, Rhode Island, in the 18th Century”, The JB Taunton River Basin Carver and other reports and Laurel K. Gabel, Pittsford, NY, nationally known gravestone authority and co-author with Theodore Chase of Gravestone Chronicles (New England Genealogical Society, Boston, 1990). The list is ordered by gravestone number, name on gravestone with date of death, followed by the gravestone carver.
